What was the Administration and Justice Act? “An act for the impartial administration of justice in the cases of persons questioned for any acts done by them in the execution of the law, or for the suppression of riots and tumults, in the province of the Massachusetts Bay, in New England.” (From Primary Source Documents Pertaining to Early American History). This meant that because of the uproars and rebellion in Massachusetts, Great Britain established a court system in the Massachusetts Bay colony to deal with the uprisings. It said that if anyone makes an error or defect in the case, it will be taken to another colony, or to Great Britain, to be judged. Home
