  18. Mark 9: Applications For Today The kingdom of God has already been established with power. There will be no future millennial kingdom on the earth as taught by premillennialists. Mark 9:1 And he said to them, "Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power." Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.

  19. Mark 9: Applications For Today We must listen to Jesus and Jesus only. Mark 9:7-8 7 And a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is my beloved Son; listen to him." 8 And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus only.

  20. Mark 9: Applications For Today For those with a great faith, all things are possible to him that believes. (Remember, “all things” means “all things” within the plan and purpose of God for mankind.) Mark 9:23 And Jesus said to him, "If you can! All things are possible for one who believes."

  21. Mark 9: Applications For Today Greatness comes to those who are servants and humble. Mark 9:35-36 35 And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, "If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all." 36 And he took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them,

  22. Mark 9: Applications For Today Jesus is not promoting denominationalism in Mark 9:38-39 as some teach today. Mark 9:38-39 38 John said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us." 39 But Jesus said, "Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. Jesus is teaching that one with authority from Jesuscan act even though he is not acting within a certain group that also has the same authority.

  23. Mark 9: Applications For Today Make whatever sacrifice necessary to eliminate whatever will cause you to stumble and go to hell. Mark 9:43-48 43And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. 45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, 48 'where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.'

  24. Mark 9: Applications For Today Christians need to be seasoned with salt: flavoring, preserving, and purifying the world around them. Mark 9:50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.

  25. Mark 9: Applications For Today Instead of disputing among brethren. Mark 9:34 But they kept silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest. Let there be peace among brethren. Mark 9:50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another."
