  3. What is it? • You very own speech diary • Getting you to think about your English speech • You get to be your own teacher and evaluate your English! • A part of the homework grade • Graded on completion ONLY!! NOT on accuracy – • So relax and speak naturally when you are recording!

  4. How to RECORD IT 1. Call the number 646) 543 – 8371 2. You will hear a greeting “Welcome to the Intermediate level 4 …” 3. After the tone, SAY YOUR NAME FIRST! And then continue to record your speech 4. Hang up after you are finished (no more than 5 min)

  5. After you record 5. You will receive an email titled “GVSEJ ENTRY # (YOUR NAME)” 6. Listen to the file and write a reflection and email back to the teacher Remember you are graded on completion only! So don’t stress out when you are recording your speech – This journal is to help you improve your English speaking, not to punish you for mistakes!! 

HOW TO WRITE A REFLECTION How Can I Improve my English speaking? • Do I have trouble pronouncing certain letters or sounds? • Do I always use same type of sentence in my speech? • How smooth is my speech? (NOT about how fast your speech is) • Do I try to use different words/grammar? Or do I use the same words/grammar repeatedly? And many other questions can be asked!
