  1. “People don't notice whether it's winter or summer when they're happy.”-   Anton Chekhov TYSONS WOODS TYLINE www.tysonswoods.org P.O. Box 267 Dunn Loring Virginia 22027 Winter 2013 Deep snow in our backyard on Litwalton Court – Photo J. Trimarchi 2012-2013 EXECUTIVE BOARD TWCABoard@gmail.com News and Information for the Tysons Woods Area Editor’s corner The last substantial green space in Tysons Corner is under threat of development. An online news article posted by WUSA-9 reports that thirty-three acres of woods and a stream comprise both Courthouse Spring Branch Park and Ragland Park. "It's a chipping away of the woods, and before you know it, they'll be gone. And once they're gone, they're gone," said a local man who regularly walks his dog in these woods. The large, narrow slice of nature serves as nice buffer between the commercial development along Route 7 in Vienna and the residential neighborhoods. The massive Tysons redevelopment plan will make the area more dense with high rises around the Metro-rail, bringing 100-thousand new residents. Transportation planners trying to prevent gridlock want to build another exit from the Dulles Toll to Boone Boulevard, which will be extended. Click here to see entire article. As every family with youngsters in the DC area already knows, Rocknoceros (pronounced like rhinoceros) is three guys: Coach Cotton, Williebob, and Boogie Woogie Bennie, who make wildly popular, award-winning music for the whole family. The three Rocknocerosbandmates "grew up" (if they ever did) in Northern Virginia.  Boggie and Coach, best friends since they were four years old, remember endlessly spinning Beatles records in Boogie's suburban bedroom while "waiting for Williebob" who appeared on the scene in high school.  Now, Rocknoceroshas dominates the Washington, DC children's music scene and gained significant national recognition as well. Your kids will love their show, and so will you! Neighbors, If you have ideas or are interested in volunteering with any of the Tysons Woods events or activities, we would appreciate your help.
