But, did you know that 85% of people fail their resolutions in January. Whether it is your mental health or even reaching fitness goals, only 8% people are able to achieve them. Have you ever thought about why this happens or what is the science behind a habit? Well! In this blog post, we will introduce you to the science of habit. This will give you an insight into achieving your resolutions with more energy and a positive mindset this year. But, before we get into that, take a look at some healthy resolutions that you can actually stick to. Eating Whole Foods: Whole food means vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, etc. These foods are one of the most sustainable ways to improve overall health. According to research, whole foods lower the risk of heart disease, increase body weight and blood sugar levels. Physical Activity: Sitting too much or having a sedentary lifestyle can have a negative impact on health. For example, if you have a sitting job of 8 or 9 hours, make a resolution to go on a walk for at least 20 minutes a day. Self-Care: Making time for yourself is not selfish. As an individual, it is very important to take out time for yourself. So, if you have a busy schedule, extract time to engage in self-care like yoga, meditation, etc. According to the psychiatrists, practicing self-care releases oxytocin that makes you feel happy. Rethink Dieting: Strict dieting or eating too little can result in body weakness. So, revisit dieting and try out healthy dieting methods guided by the dieticians. As a result, giving you sustainable weight loss. Cut Down on Alcohol: Changing this habit can keep you on track. For example, you can limit drinking it only during weekends.

  2. Visiting a Doctor Regularly: Visiting a doctor regularly is essential for so many reasons. It lets you treat a lot of potential health issues. So, before it turns into a serious problem visit health experts at Finndit and get a health checkup once a year. Science Behind a Habit A habit is something that you follow everyday that becomes so difficult to alter. Our body reflexes deny that change. For example, brushing your teeth, combing your hair, eating three meals a day, etc. Similarly, if you follow these resolutions regularly, your sensory nervous system will monitor for actions and deliver a hit of dopamine, the brain’s reward chemical. And finally, when action and satisfaction makes a connection, a piece of information is sent to a part of the brain known as the basal ganglia. However, the decisions are made in the prefrontal cortex. Thus, start a new habit by saying your goal out loud, changing a new habit with the old one, visualizing and giving yourself a break. The resolutions mentioned above are some of the most sustainable ways to keep your physical health up. So, do not give second thoughts and maintain a healthy relationship with your good habits. This is the only way to improve your lifestyle in many ways.
