Step 1 : Go to www.studentaid.gov • Scroll all the way down to “Contact Us” • Click “Contact Us”
Step 2: Click “I am a Parent” Step 3: Click “Email”
Step 4: Complete “Email Us Form” Enter In the following: • PARENT First Name • PARENT Last Name • PARENT Email Subject: Choose “ FSA ID: Account Username and Password I have a question about… “Create Account, Log In and FSA ID” How can I help you today? I am a parent without a social security number. I am unable to create an FSA ID. I need a case number to verify my identity. Click Send
Step 5: Parents Receive an Email with Case Number • Parents receive an email almost instantaneously with a case number. • Parents can then use this case number to complete the Attestation and Validation of Identity Form • The Attestation and Validation of Identity Form can be found at the following link… • https://studentaid.gov/sites/default/files/attestation-and-validation-of-identity.pdf • Parents then email IDverifcation@ed.gov and attach the Attestation and Validation of Identity Form along with proof of identity. ( i.e. CA DL, CA ID, copy of a utility bill etc.) A list of documents is listed on the form. • Parents will be contacted by email once their identity is validated.
