  3. Monsoon normally sets in over Kerala on June 1 and covers entire country by July 15

  4. The NLM as on today passes through Bhuj, Baroda, Nasik, Solapur, Hyderabad, Kalingapattinam, Paradip, BankuraandGangtok. Monsoon Delayed

  11. Current observations and forecasts suggest Monsoon will advance over most parts of country except Northwest India by June end. 30 June

June rainfall vs seasonal rainfall During the Year from 1901 to 2000 (100 years) – 16 years of deficient June ( deficiency of more than 27%) The corresponding JJAS rainfall statistics are a) 5 years deficient JJAS ( negative departure -10% or more) - Deficient b) 5 years with negative departures ( negative departure upto -10%) - Normal c) 5 years with positive departures (positive departure less than 10%) - Normal d) year with positive departure (10% or more) - Excess (No 1:1 relation between June and seasonal rain)
