  4. YOUR TASK The height of the drop is 180 inches or 15 feet. 180 inches

  5. YOUR TASK Determine the number of rubber bands you need to use in a bungee jump so that G.I. Joe gets as close to the ground without hitting the ground.

  6. MATERIALS • Rubber bands • G.I. Joe • Poster Paper • Measuring Tape

  7. STEPS 1) DROP

  8. STEPS 2) SPOT

  9. HINT Don’t spot the distance that GI Joe “hangs” to. Spot the farthest distance that GI stretches to when dropped.

  10. STEPS 3) MEASURE

  11. STEPS 4) CALCULATE

  12. Don’t miscalculate the number of rubber bands required. OUCH!!

  13. TEAM ROLES Dropper – Drops the GI Joe Spotter – Marks the farthest distance that GI Joe drop to Measurer – Measures the distance GI Joe drops to Data Keeper – Records the groups data to share with the group when the measurements are done.
