  7. IBM Maximo Everyplace Allows users to access any existing IBM Maximo application on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Android, Blackberry or other supported device without installing anything on those devices Maximo Everyplace enables users to: ● Shorten the lag time between an event’s occurrence and the recording of that event in the system. There’s no need to wait until they get back to their desk to enter or retrieve data. ● Increase accuracy of data in the system by allowing them to enter information while it’s fresh in their minds. ● Offer convenient, targeted access to Maximo for workers who don’t regularly sit at a desk or use a desktop computer.

  22. What have we learnedabout Mobilising Maximo ? • The business process needs to be designed or re-designed for mobile deployment taking into account the connectivity and mobile device constraints : • Workflow & Conditional UI are not supported in Maximo Mobile • The amount of data that can be downloaded to the mobile device is limited • The level of validation achievable on the mobile device may not be the same as in Maximo • Solutions which require near real time response e.g. immediate issue and acknowledgement of a Work Order to a mobile worker within a 2-3 minute cycle require careful design and through testing. • Workflows, escalations and other Cron task based processes introduce delays which are compounded by connectivity delays or failures. • Avoid process steps on the mobile device which require extra refresh cycles • Everyplace becomes more viable as Wi-fi and 3/4G networks become more pervasive. • Apply the KISS principle • Keep it Simple • Use Mobile technology only where it adds value to the business
