  4. Health and Safety Tips In March 2008, Thick Fog conditions where attributed to the U.A.E’s biggest traffic accident causing 5 fatalities and more than 300 injuries. All though held attributable, Fog was not the root cause. March 13th 2008, Abu Dhabi to Dubai highway

  5. Health and Safety Tips Fog is a thin layer of cloud resting on the ground, but it can cause major problems because it reduces the distance we are able to see. Here in the UAE, fog occurs most often in February, March, October, and November, (Spring and Autumn months) only lasting for 5 to 10 days in the mornings and evenings. Traffic rush hours!

  6. In an attempt to eliminate these accidents in fog, we have put together some very useful tips. Please pass these tips on to all your colleagues, friends and relatives. They may save a life. Health and Safety Tips

  7. Avoid the journey if possible, delay or postpone your trip. Call the person you are going to see and reschedule. They may not have to take the journey also. Always use your low beam headlights. High beams reflect off the fog making it even harder for you to see. If you have fog lights, use them, they are designed specifically for this condition. Your lights help other drivers see your vehicle, so be sure they all work. make a practice of walking around your vehicle before your journey to check your lights are all working and clean. 8. Do not turn on your hazard lights. Drivers can be attracted to flashing lights and could drive into them. Driving with your hazard lights on will not inform the driver behind you of your intent to turn off the road. This action puts lives in danger. Hazard lights should only be used when you pull over to show that you are parked on the side of the road. Reduce your speed to give yourself more time to react to possible dangers that appear suddenly. Do not pass other vehicles. It is easier to see better when you follow another vehicle, but be sure you are not too close in case you need to stop quickly. Health and Safety Tips x

  9. Health and Safety Tips Maintain a safe driving distance away from vehicles around you. Drive with the radio off and with the window partly open to better hear other vehicles; especially at intersections. Be patient.
