  2. Homework-Yes, I give it! • Homework is assigned Mon.-Thurs. • Students will typically complete: math page, Reading Notebook/Response, and writing assignment. There may also be a grammar, vocabulary, or reading comprehension page. • Please check homework for accuracy. • Please contact me with concerns.

  3. Tests and Quizzes • Word Study-Done in class, but I will send a copy home. • All reading/math/content tests should be signed and returned. • I will indicate if any other quizzes/assignments need to be returned (80%). • Study guides will be given a week before social studies/science tests. • SPRINTS!

  4. Writing Homework • Objective: Writing Fluency • Keep red pens away! • Encourage children to make their own choices. • Spelling—Try your best!

  5. Independent Reading • Reading Notebook should be signed each night. • No more than two books at a time. • Encourage students to “ABANDON” books. • Just Right Books-Use chart to help students find Just Right Books—MOST IMPORTANT WAY TO HELP! • Reading Level-Soon we will be testing students to find their independent reading level. • Book Wizard-See contact info card for website. You can find the reading level of many books, or search for books in your child’s reading level.
