  4. Course Outline • An introductory course at the graduate level • This course covers the topics of • The CISSP exam – with varying depth on topics • But NOT a CISSP course • Textbooks: • Matt Bishop: Computer Security Art and Science • Official ISC2 Guide to the CISSP CBK

  5. Nature of the Course • Use Bishop’s book for the first part • Use papers for 1-2 classes • Use IC2 book for the second part • Cover material relevant to the PhD qualifying examination in security

  6. Grading • We will have TWO midterm exam covering the chapters from Bishop’s book and ONE final exam covering the CISSP book. • Make-ups allowed ONLY with prior approval • We will have 4 home-work assignments. • Weights: Each exam = 20% • Homework: 40% total • The web-page will be updated during this class and the next.
