  1. Writing ionic equations

  2. Write an ionic equation for the formation of green iron(II) hydroxide. First work out the formula of iron(II) hydroxide. It is made from the Fe2+ ion and the OH– ion. Fe2+ OH– 2 Fe(OH)2 Now write the ionic equation: Fe2+(aq) + 2OH–(aq) → Fe(OH)2(s) 2

  3. Write an ionic equation for the formation of the royal blue complex formed when excess ammonia solution is added to copper(II) sulfate solution. The royal blue complex is [Cu(NH3)4]2+. Now write the ionic equation: Cu2+(aq) + 4NH3(aq) → [Cu(NH3)4]2+(aq) 4
