  2. What is it? • Not a GCSE • Like a BTEC but harder • GCSEs are Level 2 qualifications (A levels are Level 3 qualifications) • This is a Level 2 Certificate and is worth exactly two Grade Bs at GCSE • You cannot get A* in this subject

  3. What do we do? • Pick apart and analyse the way animations work • Look at very early forms, right up to modern day techniques

  4. What do we do? • There are Case Studies and Essays to write • We recommend at least Level 5a in English (6 is better) 5a  6

  5. What do we do? • We also plan, design and make our own animations: • Whiteboard animations • Claymations • Flash Animations • 3D Animations

  6. Who should do it? • People who enjoy animation/art/stories – both learning about them and making them • People who have at least level 5a in English • People who are creative (drawing, writing, film-making) • People who want to learn more about video/animation production

  7. Who SHOULDN’T do it? A*A*A*A*A* A*A*A*A*A* • People who want to get all A* • People who have less than 5a in English (there’s a fair amount of writing) • People who think it’ll be a doss
