  6. Locker Rooms Girls Boys

  7. Locker Rooms Girls Girls change in the changing areas during class. Keep all belongings together in one place. Girls athletes can have a yellow team locker only when they are an in season athlete Boys • Boys can only use their locker for the class period. • Must have sneakers for class. • Unless they are an in season athlete they can have a team locker. • Locks are required – Must Lock PE clothes in a team locker when in season • Locker rooms are for changing only • No fooling around – NO CELL PHONES • No Food Please!

  8. Attendance Procedure Once the late bell has rung, students have approximately 5 minutes to change into their PE clothes and sit on their squad spot. If students are not in their squad spot by the time the teacher has reached them in attendance they will be marked late and lose points if they do not have a pass. Where is John?

Grading Make ups Students are able to make up days for full credit Students can’t make up days that they chose not to participate Students can’t make up days that they lost points for behavioral matters Points • Each class is worth 5 points • Class grades are based on preparation and participation as well as the Ray MS PE Rubric • Students who are not prepared lose credit for class. Students must change out of clothes worn to school that day. • A prepared student who does not participate will lose credit for class • Music lessons are excused

Medical Doctor Note Students who are out more then 3 PE classes need a medical note from a doctor Long term medicals will be placed in a study hall for the length of the medical Students will be given a medical project by their PE teacher which needs to be completed in the time they are out on medical Parent Note • Students can be excused for a maximum of 2 PE classes with a parent note. Doctor’s note must be sent after that. These classes can be made up for full credit. • Students can only be excused from fitness testing from a medical professional

  13. Fall and Spring Fitness A BRIEF EXPLANATION: This is a personal fitness record of your child. It is used to help students learn to monitor their fitness levels from year to year. The test items are designed to test health-related physical fitness. The purpose of each of the items is as follows: One Mile Run/Walk or the PACER: Measures aerobic capacity, which is the best indicator of cardiovascular fitness. Cardiovascular fitness will help prevent heart disease and obesity. Sit-ups: Measures abdominal strength and endurance, which is important for proper posture and prevention of lower back pain. Sit and Reach: Measures theflexibility of the lower back and posterior thighs.This is important for the prevention of lower back pain. Push-ups: Measures upper body strength and endurance, which is important for posture and skill performance. No worries! All based on participation, effort and personal fitness goals.
