  1. Intermediate Bulk Containers - FMT Magazine With the changes in the size of various food products, the processes of storage, packaging and transportation in the food industry must also occur. Intermediate bulk containers could be an important way to start a revolution in this field. As mentioned above, due to their compact and flexible design, IBCs can store large amounts of material without spoiling the food, especially during transportation. Intermediate bulk containers (also known as IBC tanks, IBC containers, IBCs or pellet tanks) are industrial-grade containers designed for handling bulk goods, transporting and storing liquids, semi-solids, pastes or solids. has been developed for. The two main categories of IBC tanks are flexible IBC and rigid IBC. Many IBCs are reusable and can be cleaned and reused. There are different types of intermediate bulk containers. This article looks at the types and properties of intermediate bulk container. Types of materials used to make intermediate bulk containers: 1. Wood 2. Plastic (High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Polypropylene) 3. Wood-Plastic Hybrid 4. Stainless Steel 5. Carbon Steel 6. Metals like aluminum and galvanized iron 7. Plastic-Metal Hybrid Types of IBC containers: • Rigid IBCs: They are cubic in shape. Inner containers are made of HDPE or metals such as aluminum or galvanized or hybrid iron. These are designed to hold their shape during food

  2. storage and transportation. They are cheap and can be easily carried from one place to another. It can move the most dangerous and valuable chemicals through vast expanses of land and water without spilling them. These IBCs can be strengthened slightly to avoid fumes. • Collapsible IBCs: The inner FIBC containers are made of durable plastic that can be collapsed when empty. These IBCs do not have an external cage. Their capacity is about 1000 liters. The bottom of the containers is a flexible bag suitable for storing and transporting liquid or free-flowing powdery materials. These IBCs can be used to store more solids and liquids for easier transportation. • Flexible IBCs: Flexible IBCs are also called bulk bags and are made of a heavy material such as polypropylene or polyethylene (polyethylene cloth bags). They can also be made from aluminum. These consist of four tubular elements that are continuously sewn together. When filled with food, flexible IBCs take on a cube shape. There is a draw point on the bottom of each bag, which makes it easy to dose the contents. They are easy to manufacture and have a high degree of strength. They also improve flow control and prevent product leakage. For more articles on food marketing, agricultural technology and technology related to the Indian food industry, visit FMT magazine.
