  3. YIBOs in Turkey • Providing 8-year compulsory education in rural areas • Total of 582 regional boarding schools • Total of 287,000 students

  4. İLKYAR’s vision İLKYAR will not leave any YIBO unvisited! Number of schools visited since 1998: ~200

  5. İLKYAR’s mission • Motivate elementary students to continue with their education • Motivate teachers to motivate their students • Create opportunies for students in their schools

  7. Memorial Libraries • Foundation of school library (initally 800 books) • Ongoing library support

  8. Game Rooms • Toys for kindergarten and 1st graders

  9. Educational Activities • 2-day program • Educational activies in math, science, archeology & literature. • Experiments in physics & chemistry. • Educational games • Books for each student

  10. Remote Projects: • Project to support for female students • Gifts for successful students • Mentoring
