  2. Today, auspicious means for improved health and better quality of life have become easier to attain following advancements in pharmaceuticals, medical experts say. Many health problems have become less arduous to prevent, treat, or even cure as a wide range of prescription medications are mostly within a patient's reach. Despite their promising benefits, side effects or less favorable results that may be beyond a medication’s therapeutic effects may also be imminent, according to medical experts.  It is of great advantage that a patient proactively gets educated of the potential side effects of a certain medication to learn the next best course of action to take as soon as any indications of adverse events become evident.

  3. In most cases, however, patients who receive prescription medications have been reported to be unaware of a drug’s unanticipated adverse effects. In fact, a lack of ample awareness as regard the link between the long-term use of bisphosphonate drugs and risk of spontaneous femur fractures has been revealed in a previous research that zeroed in on the potential adverse effects of antiresorptive drugs in osteoporotic patients. In addition, a recent study also suggests how patients may stand at an increased risk of vision problems from the initial use of certain bisphosphonates including Fosamax.
