  2. Idle Speed • Idle speed should be adjusted with the engine at operating temperature and the ignition timing set

Idle Mixture • Idle mixture is controlled by the idle mixture screws • Engine should be at operating temperature • Idle speed should already be adjusted • Vacuum method • Adjust idle screws to obtain highest idle vacuum • Idle speed • Adjust idle screws to obtain highest idle rpm • Gas analyzer method • Adjust to obtain the highest CO2 (4-gas) • Adjust to obtain the lowest average CO and HC

  4. Float Adjustment (Holley) • Turn float level screws until fuel drips out of the check plugs

  5. Float Adjustment (Edelbrock and Quadrajet) • Carburetor must be disassembled to adjust the float level
