Teaching Science Through Inquiry • CMT--Grades 3-8: 1 task each grade that includes 1-3 labs and a suggestion that students deepen their understanding of the lab with nonfiction research • Grade 4: Go With the Flow • Grade 6: Dig In! • CAPT --Grade 9:3 tasks, Grade 10:2 tasks that include a laboratory activity and a science, technology and society investigation • Grade 9: CT Brownfield Sites • Grade 10: Human Population Dynamics

Experiment vs. Research • How do I include research when students have hands-on with labs and I have so much content to cover? • Some inquiries are best answered by experiments and others by research • The task often includes suggested web sites. This presentation will include suggested iCONN databases. • iCONN is available free to schools, libraries and homes in CT so it minimizes the Digital Divide
