  1. C Co ol li iv vi in ng g i in n L Lo on nd do on n The primary place for coliving in the UK is London. Due to the growing socio economic- conditions underlying the city, more pe ople are getting interested in conscious coliving with people of shared interests. This makes it a very important business sector too. Organizations are making more places to rent out As a result of the growing demand, many communities are being made for people who are into coliving. The average rent of such places is dependent upon the size of the place and the facilities available. However, the average rent is between £1000 to £4000. Here are the different kinds of places that are rented out: Flatshares and Student Accommodation These are the cheapest type of coliving London standard. In this type, a big building that resembles a student hostel is constructed, with various facilities that are shared between the individuals. Although some may find this type of living feasible, there have been complaints about bad hygiene and lack of community involvement. The rooms are also known to be extremely small, so it is practically impossible to facilitate a family or even keep some necessary items that one may own. Conscious Coliving Modern coliving facilities The best example of such facilities is “The Collective” or “We Live”. Although this too includes mere rooms, the facilities are considerably better (and more in number) than the Flatshares, some of which include: Spa Cinema Hall Gym Kitchens Library Laundry place Co-working spaces Gaming places These flats are available only for rent, which is higher than the ordinary student accommodation. Such an accommodation, however, leads to more community involvement and socialization. The 1970’s style Coliving The vintage styled coliving does not involve mere rooms but are standalone housing units. However, in this type only the basic facilities are available. You do not have access to bars and entertainment places, so it may be preferable for older people. Though shared kitchens and laundry places are available. They may be available for both rent or purchase.

  2. Barbican Styled Developments Out of all the types of facilities, Barbican style developments are the most expensive. Like the 1970’s cohousing, they too are individual housing units, but have all available facilities like: Gymnasium Swimming Pool Restaurants Cinema Hall Community Park The apartments available in this type can be considered luxury apartments, given their high quality and advanced facilities. Conscious Coliving may be the future of London As the population of London increases and the place gets more diverse, even the government would be forced to take measures to promote conscious coliving. Above all else, the globalized environment of London also makes people feel lonely. Coliving London would be a great opportunity to solve various problems curtailing the city. Final Thoughts Coliving London (a highly polarized society) may raise fears for violence, but if appropriate measures are taken, it can be a game changer for London. Not only are they cheap and affordable, but they also promote socialization. In other words, people who found themselves to be alone with no one to talk to will be involved with people who listen to them.
