  5. ORDER OF AN ENGLISH SENTENCE: Subject (does)verbdirect object (receives) We see Mrs. Engleman at lunch. I ripped the paper. She sold the house. Nancy bought the shoes. They visited us. Mrs. Engleman baked a cake. You guys wore a dress. Carlos needs money.

  6. Direct Object PRONOUNS To avoid repeating a direct object noun, you can replace it with a direct object pronoun (DOP).

  8. PLACEMENT OF DOP: DOP come before a conjugated verb: La quiero beber. or afteran infinitive Quiero beberla.

  9. Ejemplo: Comemos tacos. Los comemos.

  10. Ejemplo: Óscar besaasu esposa. Óscarla besa. **When you use a DOP, don’t use “a”

  11. Ejemplo: Yo comprélos pantalones. Yo loscompré.

  12. Ejemplo: How a DOP replaces a thing: ¿Necesitas comer la pizza? Sí, necesito comer la pizza. Sí, lanecesito comer. Sí, necesito comerla.

  16. Ejemplo: ¿Quieres comprar el llavero? Sí, lo quiero comprar. Sí, quiero comprarlo.

  17. “it” lo/la mean “IT” but can only replace OBJECTS (NOT SUBJECTS)!!!!!!!!!! “Lo es bueno” is incorrect! To say “it is good,” say “es bueno.”
