    1. James Watt By Kayleigh & Charlotte

    2. Child Hood Born Greenock 19th January 1736. Brother called John was shipwrecked when James was 17. Didn’t go to school much but his mum taught him. When he was 18 his mum died and his dad became ill.

    3. Adult Hood In 1764 married his cousin Margaret Miller had 4 children. 2 lived until toddlers. Two lived to adult hood. Margaret died in child-birth He married Anne McGregor He had 2 children who died young.

    4. James Watt Went to London to study instrument making. Came back to Glasgow and wasn’t allowed to set up his own business because he hadn’t studied for 7 years. The University of Glasgow let him set up a small business in the university.

    5. The Steam Engine James Watt made improvements to the steam engine. The steam engine would be very different today if James didn’t improve it. We think he was a very good inventor. He also made a machine which copies things.

    6. IMPACT ON SOCIETY If James hadn’t improved the steam engine mines would have flooded and lots of people would of drowned.

    7. Death Died 25th of August 1819. He was 83 when he died.
