  1. Mrs. Hein’s Weekly NewsMay 3, 2013 Language Arts We are still in our unit all about Actions and Words. Our theme question is: How do actions and words affect others? Our focus question is: How do we act at school? We have also been reading many stories about why rules are so important for us to follow. Ask your kiddo about some of the stories they read during Reader’s Club this week. Plus, we are working on a special writing activity and did a writing about using important manners at school. We have been doing many phonics activities in some work packets too. We even heard the story called: If You Give a Dog a Donut. Sight Words I have placed all the rest of the sight word charts in your child’s folder to practice. All 40 words are now placed in there as we continue to practice reading and writing them until the end of the year. Please continue to work on these with your child too. These are the remaining words for the year! Thank you for your help with this matter! FOUND Zipper front hooded jacket. T.K.S. Basics M (5-6), Dark blue. Found in our room over a month ago. No name inside, no kiddo claiming it. If your child is missing this jacket please contact me. And please remember to have your child's name on their homework and in any articles of clothing that may be removed, such as a jacket. Math This week we have continued on with Subtraction and how to cross out some items from a whole group and then how to draw a “left over box” for the remaining items that are left We are using a Minus sign for Take Away and an Equals sign for Is. We are also finding an answer to a subtraction problem that is called the Difference. Family Fun Math work is going home on Tuesday next week.  Kratzer Kountry Fair We hope that you enjoy the Fair held on Friday Night at Kratzer!
