There are plenty of places in Dharamshala that has a lot of history included and one of the most historical and famous tourists’ spot in Dharamshala is the War Memorial. When you visit the War Memorial in Dharamshala, you will notice how proudly the place is still sticking to its history and how proud Himachal is! About the War Memorial

  2. The War Memorial here in Himachal Pradesh was built in order to keep the memories of the soldiers alive who fought bravely for the motherland. The War Memorial is situated at the Kacheri Road, Jawahar Nagar in Dharamshala. It consists of the war heroes of the Kangra district of the Himachal Pradesh, who lost their lives during the Indo-China war of 1962, the Indo-Pak wars of 1947, 1965 and 1971 as well as the UN peace operations. The surrounding of the War Memorial is extremely beautiful. You can see plenty of garden landscape, and the paths you cross while you are on your way to the Memorial have something poetic about it. The beauty of the place is inexplicable and if you haven’t visited the place yet, then you are missing out on something.

  3. The Memorial consists of plenty of different things. There are two most amazing things in this place and they are the GPG College which was established during the British Era and a Café that serves plenty of foods and beverages. You can also see a beautiful path of storybook consisting of pine trails while on your way to the war memorial and the place is a memorial for the Himachali Martyrs who fell while defending our motherland during wars with Pakistan and China. The War Memorial was set up to commemorate the soldiers who fought for India in post independent India and a lot of thought has been put into its creation. For example, the wall of the memorial is curved, signifying the continuity of life.
