  1. Creating Assignments and Quizzes in Discovery Education Carley Givens Berea Elementary November 19, 2013

  2. Creating an Assignment-Screen #1 • Go to Builder Tools, then Assignment Builder. • Complete the Assignment Information. • Pick a folder to save the assignment. (If you do not have folders, I recommend making them)

  3. Creating an Assignment-Screen #2 • Enter Assignment description/directions. Here you can also add links to website or copy and paste from Word. • On this screen you can attach videos. • Search videos on Discovery Ed. This is if you do not already have a video saved. • My Content-This links you back to your folders. If you already have a video saved in your folders, you would click here. • You can also upload pdf documents and word documents. • Good for watching a video and having the questions in front of them. Can record questions on whiteboard or ipad(if using laptop or computer lab)

  4. Assigning It To Your Class • Enter a start date and an end date (The day you want it assigned and the day you want it due). • Select the class you want to assign it to (Reading, Math, Science. Social Studies) • Success!! Now you can either return to Builder Tools or if you have more than 1 class you want to assign it to, click Assign again.

  5. Creating a Quiz – Set Up • Step 1: My Builder Tools-Create New Quiz • Enter Quiz Info • Enter Quiz Instructions • Click the Settings you want. • Save in the correct folder.

  6. Creating a Quiz-Writing Questions • There are 2 options for creating questions. • Option 1: Add Questions from DE Library • Can enter a search time and search questions other teachers have created. • Click add if you like the question. • Click Edit to adjust any part of the question. You can even change the question format. (Mult. Choice, True/False) • Click Save and Continue • (Even if you’re not finished, click save and continue. You can click build at top of screen to go back to Creating the same Quiz).

  7. Creating a Quiz-Writing Questions • Option 2: Create a Question. • Click Create a Question to write your own Quiz • Choose a format and enter the question., • BE SURE TO CLICK FINISH EDITING! • Option: Randomize questions • Option: Can preview quiz

  8. Creating a Quiz-Assigning it To Students • Chose the class you are assigning it to. Can choose multiple classes at once. • Save and Continue-YOUR FINISHED!
