  2. Physical Characteristics • Przewalski’s horses stand about 13 hands high at the shoulder. • The coat of this horse ranges from brown to dun. • Adult Przewalski’s horses can weigh between 550-750 pounds. • Their heads are large and their bodies are short and muscular.

  3. Environment • There are many different types of environments that a Przewalski’s horse lives in. • Shrublands, plains, grassy deserts, and basically anywhere that has steppe vegetation are places that a Przewalski’s horse would be. • Przewalski’s horses can only be found in zoos nowadays.

  4. Food and Behavior Przewalski’s horses eat many different types of vegetation. • Every day they eat plants/grasses • They live in social groups consisting of a dominant stallion.

  5. Why is the Przewalski’s Horse endangered? • People have been going out where they are, killing them, without knowing they are endangered. • Not many people know about them, so they don’t take care of the Earth, its environment. • This horse has not been domesticted. • The Przewalski’s horse has lost much of its natural habitat to grazing domestic animals.

  6. Protection and Conservation Efforts • There was a foundation for the preservation and protection of the Przewlaski’s horse. • They had a long term aim to return this ancient hose to the wild. • The world’s largest captive breeding program for the Przewalski’s horse is in an Askania Preserve in Ukraine.
