Know your audience • Reviewers are informed readers but not necessarily experts in your specific area (~20 reviewers). • Funding agency personnel want to know health impact (e.g., NIH, OREF, NSF, NIST, AF, CDC, DOD, etc.). • Keep in mind that you need to be very clear and need to emphasize health and science significance throughout. • For NSF, include educational and underrepresented minorities.
