  1. How to talk on the Phone? For BMA By Kim Kelly

  2. Under stress or in a hurry, it’s easy to lose Control and guard down. Fail to observe the basics. Good manners are helpful for business, while good manners can set you apart. If you take a deep breath before you call, good manners can actually get results you want – faster. Telephone manners

  3. If you’re on a scheduled call, be at your desk at the appointed time. Learn the names of people who answer the phone at the number you call most frequently, speak pleasantly. Treat the call as if it were a meeting – have a purpose and an agenda. Decide what you’ll do if someone else answers other than the Person you’re calling. Would you prefer to leave a message, go to voice mail, or call back later? Phone strategy

  4. LISTEN!!! LISTEN!!! LISTEN!!! Don’t type or shuffle papers while you’re on phone. It suggests that you’re not listening to the prospect. Do put the phone down gently, if you have to put it down to spare your listen’s ear. Don’t eat while you’re on the phone. (Chewing gum, having munchise on the floor while being on the phone is practically rude and a NO NO.)  Do’s and Don’ts - 1

  5. Do’s and Don’ts - 2 Cover the microphone if you have to sneeze or cough. Do speak directly into the receiver don’t burry the microphone into your shoulder or neck. Do explain yourself and verify the phone number if the lead turns out to be a wrong number, don’t just hang up on the prospect (It’s rude) Cut down the back ground noises.
