Beginning of year reminders… • Starters/Bellringers at beginning of each class. • Procedures in place for your classroom. • SLANT – Situp, Look/Listen, Ask/Answer, Nod/Note, Track the Teacher • TCAP Data- recorded on your current students. BOTH- Prof Level & Scale Score. • Greek & Latin Roots being incorporated within your Team. • Strategic Teaching Strategies-(Foldables, Think Alouds, Note-taking, Exit tickets, Equity Sticks, etc…) • Formative Assessments- Guiding/Driving instruction.

Portable Labs/ Ipad Cart • Scheduled through TEAMS & grades. • Multiple RESERVED weeks— • Writing Practice Weeks. *ELA teacher 1 day of week. • February “TCAP Writing Test” Plan… *Have to be diligent in keeping these computers in good working order! Utilize notebooks, check backgrounds, missing keys, shut down, closing lab doors carefully…

  6. COMMON CORE implementation… • Tier 2 Words across disciplines. (12 Powerful words + Tier 2 List) INSTRUCTIONAL SHIFTS: • Complex Text opportunities • Evidence based answers • Building Knowledge • Focus (Inch wide – Mile deep) • Coherence • Rigor

  7. Teacher Evaluation Data… • Will be meeting with all teachers to look at data. • TVAAS data. • Overall Evaluation Summary data. • DEADLINESept 20.- T-EVAL Self-Assessment & 15% Choice.

  12. CORE Teachers – Class Reports Spend time analyzing the data in each ReportingCategory to see where your strengths lie and where your challenges fall. (Could be topics for future PLCs).

  13. Intervention students…Tier 2/3 • READING/LA is only ‘true’ intervention we have in place. • CSI (S. Ramsey- Voyager Reading program) list of students. • Lang Arts Enrich (J Weir) list of students. Make note of these students & be sure you are using Strategic Teaching to hopefully meet their needs. Intervention Team meetings will be held to discuss these students. (RTI process) Will be creating a list of any additional ‘watch’ students when DE Data is analyzed.

  14. Important DATES… • Classes/Students: Friday, Sept. 6 CAB Student Assembly Kickoff. *Related Arts. (CORE teachers take students to gymatorium. Will go to Related Arts at completion of program.) Tuesday, Oct. 1 EXPLORE Test -8th grade. Guidance will direct. • Teachers/Planning: Thursday, Sept. 5 PLC #1 Grade level/Depts. PLC Meeting Notes due to KC by Friday. Friday, Sept. 20 Bradley County In-Service A.M.P.M. OMS- PBS/Advisory Roll out from committee. Monday, Sept. 30 Professional Development Guest Speaker – Library –Planning time.

PLC guidelines… Educators engaged in the PLC process are working collaboratively and tirelessly to lead everyone – their students and themselves – to learn at the greatest achievement levels imaginable. • Every teacher will belong to a PLC Team • Every team will establish a curricular goal(s)/target(s) • Teachers will share expertise • Teachers will share instructional practices from the past and research best practices in the areas chosen for improvement. • Building on what we already do…with structure & focus. Setting GOALS. • Grade Level / Departments. • Focus = Data, Common Core Implementation, Common Assessments. • Scheduled meeting once a month.First Thursday. PLC’s are a ‘work in progress’. As we work together to begin this valuable collaboration we will ‘set & adjust goals’, and ‘learn’ & ‘tweak’ the process in order to make PLCs as beneficial and impactful as possible in order to enhance student achievement. (*Book Study?)
