AboutNATPOW The National Trust for Population Welfare-NATPOW, is an autonomous organization established by the Government of Pakistan since 1994 under Charitable Endowment Act, 1890 and it is mandated to create an effective partnership between Government & Donors and Civil Society & Private Sector. NATPOW has Head Office at Islamabad and Six Regional Offices at Lahore, Multan, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Gilgit.

NATPOW provides Financial & Technical Support to its affiliated Civil Society Organizations-CSOs (379) for reaching the rural, marginalized & poor communities, rendering Safe Motherhood Services including RH&FP/ HTSP, Neonatal & Child Healthcare and improving Reproductive Health/ Social status of Women, Children, Adolescents & Men, with special emphasis on Community Mobilization & Participation, Advocacy & Awareness Raising, HRD/ Capacity Building and Service Delivery, so as to meaningfully contribute towards implementation of the Population Policy and Development process in the Country

NATPOW(Vision) The NATPOW envisions an enabled Civil Society efficiently active and involved in the population & development agenda and meaningfully contributing to policy formulation & legislative process and provision of social services, with special focus on RH&FP, so as to have socially empowered communities for an educated, healthy and prosperous Pakistan

NATPOW(Mission) To Act as a Grants Management Body for the Civil Society Organizations-CSOs enabling them to reach-out the rural, poor, marginalized and under-served communities to address their immediate needs through Service Delivery and seek longer term solutions by means of Advocacy, Policy Formulation, Awareness Raising, Strategic Communication and HRD/ Capacity Building, for advancing Population & Development agenda in Pakistan

NATPOW(Strengths) • Professionals’ Pool of experienced Public Health Experts • Cluster of Master Trainers on RH&FP, Gender and Rights • Managerial Staff at NATPOW Head Office and the 06-Regional Offices • Unique positioning and close access to the Public and Private Sectors • Country-wide Network of Partner Civil Society Organizations-CSOs (380) • HRD/ Training Wing works in collaboration with diversified Institutes/ Organizations such as Regional Training Institutes, RHS A-Centres, Tertiary Care Hospitals

NATPOW(Projects) • Safe Motherhood & Child Health Care: • Services and Community Mobilization • Grants for establishment of 58 Family Health Centres through CSOs in Rural/Remote Areas (GoP-NATPOW-CSOs) • “Literacy for Family Health Initiative-LFHI” to promote Safe Motherhood & Child Healthcare, Personal Hygiene Practices through dissemination of relevant information and knowledge to the young girls and mothers of Reproductive age, through Adult Literacy Program of National Commission for Human Development (UNFPA- NATPOW- NCHD) • Collaboration with UNESCO for promotion of Safe Motherhood & Child Healthcare, Personal Hygiene Practices through dissemination of relevant information and knowledge to the young girls and mothers of Reproductive age, through Adult Literacy Program of UNESCO (UNFPA- NATPOW- UNESCO- IPs of UNESCO).

NATPOW(Projects continued..) • Humanitarian Work • 2010 Post Flood Relief Activities in Punjab, Sindh, KP and Baluchistan • (UNFPA, KimseYokMu, Inspired Sisters, United Sikhs, CSOs) • 2010 Mobile Service Units (MSUs) Project : Safe Motherhood & Child Healthcare Services in 20 Districts/ 50 Tehsils through 50 MSUs, reaching Village-to Village & Door-to-Door in Flood Affected Areas of Punjab, Sindh, KP, Balochistan & GB • 2011 Post Rains Relief Activities in Sindh (KimseYokMu, CSOs) • 2011 Mobile Service Units (MSUs) Project : Safe Motherhood & Child Healthcare Services 15 Tehsils through 15 MSUs, reaching Village-to Village & Door-to-Door in Flood Affected Areas of Sindh (Districts Sanghar (05), Benazirabad (04), Khairpur (03) and MirpurKhas (03) (UNFPA-NATPOW-PWDs-CSOs)

NATPOW(Projects continued..) • Training & Research • Scaling-up Best Practices in Pakistan to Integrate FP into MNCH - HTSP Project in Layyah-Punjab and Nawabshah -Sindh (Pathfinder International- NATPOW-CSOs) • WASH KAP Baseline Survey in 31 Flood Affected Districts of Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, AJK and GB (Plan International-NATPOW-NIPS-CSOs) • Human Rights & Gender • Religious Leader's Mobilization to promote Responsible Parenthood, Gender equality & equity and eradicate Extreme Behaviours at grassroots level community-Punjab(CIDA-NATPOW-CSOs) • Collaborating Partner with Ministry of Human Rights for Universal Periodic Review (UPR)-2012 (MoHR- NATPOW)
