  7. Part 1: Leading by example • At the start of a construction project, define a wood based structural and architectural solution • Increase the use of appearance wood in construction and renovation projects on public buildings

  8. Part 1: Leading by example • Get municipal governments to commit to adopting a charter to use wood in municipal buildings • Create in Québec a network of functional public buildings based on wood solutions

  9. Part 2 : Increase demand for wood solutions Support in the development of new products and technologies Innovation Tool development Removing obstacles to using wood solutions Promoting the physical and environmental properties of wood and accomplishments by users Promotion of wood material

CECOBOIS (Centre d’expertise en construction commerciale en bois) • Brings together builders, material suppliers, and wood frame construction experts from across Québec • Activities • Developing tools to design, estimate, conceive, and create wood frame buildings • Target markets where wood is competitive • Provide technical training on site and in manufacturing mills • Provide technical support, networking, and representations to professionals, promoters, and insurance providers • Carry out targeted promotion aimed at public and private decision makers

Alliance québécoise du bois • Brings together decision makers, investors, construction professionals and other partners interested in promoting the use of wood • Members adhere to a set of basic, common sustainable development principles • Members show their commitment by creating an individual action plan (voluntary guidelines) and agreeing to share the results • Activities • Creation of a communication plan • Creation of ad campaigns and promotional tools • Representation among interest groups and organisms
