  1. What do you think of when you see these logos?

  2. When a person thinks about a nonprofit's brand, they make the connection to the organization's cause, which becomes the main identifier. • They think, ‘Do I support the cause or have a gut feeling about it? Do I have a heart for the mission or care about it?'Bottom line, if a person doesn't care about the cause, they will not give to it.

  3. The importance of creating a brand • Do people in your communities know about YM? • YM is still growing – there are more YM units here then ever before and it’s our job to market YM and create a brand for Young Muslims • We’ve made lots of things in the past – t-shirts, stickers, even thoubes and socks and kufis • We as members of YM, wherever we go act as representatives of YM and are examples of the YM brand

  4. How can we establish YM as a brand? • YM isn’t only about the shirts we wear at a conference • The quality of our NNs are our ultimate product that we can market as a brand • But we need your help – ideas?

  5. How we can use social media for our benefit? • Facebook – facebook.com/youngmuslims • More than 3100 likes • Twitter – twitter.com/youngmuslims • 2187 followers • YouTube – youtube.com/youngmuslimstv • 1086 subscribers • Over 80,000 views on our videos

  6. How can YM help my local NN? • The power of social media is potentially limitless – secret sessions at Youth Conference 2011 were a tremendous success • Brainstorm new avenues on how we can use them – ideas? • How to publicize YM effectively – ideas?
