  6. Global Medical Education Collaboration • Institute for International Medical Education • Purpose: • Create Global Minimum Essential Requirements (GMER) • Evaluate medical students/schools • Share with the globe M. Roy Schwarz and Andrzej Wojtczak at Xiang-Ya Medical School, China

  10. What’s Required? • Identification of infrastructure experts at medical schools to work with the physicians and medical educators • Establishment of standards for supporting online collaboration (videoconferencing and web sites) • Commitment to develop prototypes during 2005

  11. Proposal • Next steps • Establish a special interest group (mail list) for support of medical education and research collaborations • Prototype videoconferences with a small number of medical schools • Report on progress and include medical schools at future APAN meetings
