  2. Gingerly • Definition: cautious; carefully • Part of Speech: adverb • Sentence: I touched my cheek gingerly. "Really?“

  3. Glaring • Definition: to stare angrily or to shine brightly. • Part of Speech: verb • Sentence: Soda was glaring at him. "Leave my kid brother alone, you hear?

  4. Incredulous • Definition: unbelieving • Part of Speech: adjective • Sentence: She gave him an incredulous look; and then she threw her Coke in his face.

  5. Asset • Definition: something useful or valuable quality • Part of Speech: noun • Sentence: Not like the Socs, who jump greasers and wreck houses and throw beer blasts for kicks, and get editorials in the paper for being a public disgrace one day and an asset to society the next.

  6. Stocky • Definition: heavily built, having a short and solid form • Part of Speech: adjective • Sentence: He was about six feet tall, stocky in build, and very proud of his long rusty-colored sideburns.

  7. Stricken • Definition: affected by something overwhelming • Part of Speech: adjective • Sentence: He looked up and across the field with a stricken expression on his face.
