  2. WHAT IS IT? • This has to do with malfunctions in a persons mood. Also known as a mood episode, these can cause stress disability or both. • A normal person with this disorder usually have periods of time when they are themselves. The length depends on how serious their condition is.

  3. DIFFERENT TYPES OF EPPISODES • There are 4 different types 1)manic,(2) hypomanic,(3) depressive, and (4) mixed. • A manic is when a person has elated or irritable mood, along with other symptoms. • A hypomanicis a less sever form of a manic

  4. DIFFERENT TYPES OF EPISODES • A depressive person suffers from sudden sadness and loss of interest. They could also suffer from appetite and sleep disturbances, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, low self-worth or guilt, and suicidal thoughts or actions. • A mixed episode combines symptoms of a manic and depressive.

THE THREE TYPES • There are three primary types of bipolar disorder. • 1 being bipolar 1 to have this you must have at least one manic or mixed episode. • Bipolar 2 with this you experience hypomanic and depressive episodes without manic or mixed. • The last one being Cyclothymia this being a chronic mood disturbance. Chronic meaning its ongoing.

  7. TREATMENT • There are many different kinds of treatment for this disorder. The most common is simple medication. But there is another kind of treatment called holistic treatment. • When proceeding with a holistic treatment taking medication is only part of the process. This is mostly based on a belief that the person can change part of their life without changing the whole thing.

  8. TIPS FOR MANAGEING THIS ILLNESS • Setting goals is a very affective way to manage. These goals can be many different things they could even be dreams. • Also think positively. If you always have a negative mind set nothing will ever get accomplished.

  9. Signs and symptoms • There are couple. • Depression* • Mania* • Hypomania* • Psychotic symptoms • Paranoid symptoms

  10. Signs and symptoms • Intense anger and irritability • Anxiety • Feeling over stimulated/ overwhelmed • Suicidal thoughts and impulses • Self-harm • hypochondria
