What is IVF Procedure?

IVF, or in vitro fertilization, is the process of fertilization in which egg and sperm are combined u201cin the laboratoryu201d, i.e., in vitro to form an embryo. For this procedure, a large number of eggs are collected from the female and deposited into a petri dish, already containing carefully cleansed sperm cells. The sperms are retrieved from the male via masturbation while the eggs are guided by ultrasound and collected henceforth. Under controlled conditions, some of the eggs get fertilized by the sperm cells and become embryos.

  1. IVF, orin vitro fertilization, is the process of fertilization in which egg and sperm are combined "in the laboratory",

  2. i.e., in vitro to form an embryo. One or two of those healthy embryos will, then, be implanted in the womb of the female. In rare circumstances, the sperm cells require added assistance during the fertilization process. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is one such method in which only one sperm cell is injected into an egg. This is an ART (or assisted reproductive technology) procedure. For this procedure, the ovaries must first be stimulated before eggs can be extracted. A female body will generally only mature one (or perhaps two) eggs every month if they don't use fertility medicines. But, for traditional IVF, a lot of eggs will be needed. Hence, the ovaries of a female are stimulated with injectable fertility medications to mature a dozen or more eggs for retrieval. However, this isn't always the case. Oral fertility medications or very low-dose injectable treatments may be used to stimulate just a few eggs in minimal stimulation IVF (also known as micro IVF). Conditions for IVF PRocedure The procedure of IVF is done in conditions like: • Severe male infertility • Previously cryopreserved eggs • Preimplantation genetic testing of embryos (PGT) • Failure of prior IVF cycles at the fertilization stage. • A gestational carrier is needed • An egg donor is being used • Fallopian tubes blocked or damaged IVF is usually used after all previous reproductive treatments have failed. Or is sometimes treatment of choice for conceiving. preferred as 1st Why have the procedure in India? India is known to be the best place for fertility treatment.
