  2. Megan’s Cyberbullying Account After watching an excerpt from the Dr. Phil show you have seen how cyberbullying can go from harassment of a student to teenage suicide. There was Josh, the students who wrote mean things on Megan’s MySpace account, the other students who saw the site or heard about it but didn’t add anything, Megan’s parents and the school. • What went wrong in the scenario with Megan? Who is to blame? • What could have been done by students who knew about the insults being put on Megan’s My Space? • What could have Megan have done differently? • What could have her mother and father have done differently? • Could have the school done anything to prevent something like this from happening?

  4. Digital Media • Electronic devices and media platforms such as computers, cell phones, video, social networking sites, the Internet, and video games that allow users to create, communicate, and interact with one another or with the device or application itself.

  5. Ethics • A set of principles and morals governing people’s behavior, including honesty and respect toward others.

  6. Online Ethics • A set of principles and morals governing people’s behavior as it relates to the Internet and digital devices.

  7. Social Network • An online community of people with a common interest who use a website or other technologies to communicate with each other and share information, resources, etc.

  8. Cyberbullying • The use of the Internet and digital devices to harm other people, in a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner.

  9. Facebook or My Space • A popular social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them.

  11. Gallery Walk Expectations • Every group has a recorder, a reader, and a contributer. • Stay in group and with group throughout the activity-no walking to another group. • No rolling in chairs. • Participate with your group and come up with discussion answers. • Keep all electronics put away.

  12. Extra Credit Homework Watch the You Tube movie on cyberbullying and write a summary which includes answers to the questions asked in today’s Gallery Walk activity. Go to You Tube Search box and enter “Cyberbullying Full Movie part 1” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omaWTBgBp-w) and watch this and the next 5 parts as well. It was an ABC Family movie. You may come in during Math Lab/Tutoring Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 103 to watch it if your computer at home can’t access it. Write your paper in MLA format please. Exit Slip Write down which of the scenarios or stories you read or watched today impacted you the most and why. What would you do if something similar to this scenario happened to one of your friends?
