  2. What is a 4 year plan? Fluid/Sketched out plan of what classes you will take in HS and WHEN you will take them. Some may not be 4 years, some graduate earlier, & some need a little more time. You might have done this before; I HOPE YOU HAVE! 4 year plans are always changing and needing updated based on your academic progress towards graduation requirements.

  5. Why do I need a 4 year plan? • Requirements for graduation EXIST • Have to meet requirements to GRADUATE • Diplomas are earned NOT given  Can you effectively meet requirements if you do not keep track and plan them out?

  6. Diploma-shmoma… What’s the difference? • General Diploma- • Most limiting when it comes to post-secondary, but some places do accept them. • 40 credits- fewer Math & Sci requirements • Core 40 Diploma- • The “average” high school diploma, and is accepted at most “average” schools. • 40 credits- 3 yrs of Sci, SS, 4 yrsEng & 4 yrsMth(or 3 Math & 1 QR) • Core 40 Academic Honors- • Needed for more elite schools or challenging programs. • 47 credits- WLG required (2 of 2 OR 3 of 1), AP/SAT/ACT scores, Dual Credit, must be all A, B, Cs.. No semester grade lower than C allowed in core classes.
