  1. Workshops with Users Lab4 Presentation Group 13 António Pereira (63287) Ana Almeida (64719) Hugo Gonçalves (66998)

  2. Workshops with Users • What technique we used • The workshops • The results obtained

  3. Workshops with Users What technique we used • we decided to use the “Six Thinking Hats” technique • we used this technique because we wanted to know what people thought about the conceptual ideas we had • this technique also helped us to understand the user’s points of view

  4. Workshops with Users What technique we used • so, with these workshops we … • … identified problems with our own ideas • … got alternative solutions • … predicted the consequences of each idea • … found out that every solution may have a problem, and as so, we need to select the best approach

  5. Workshops with Users The workshops • there was a slightly difference between the original “six thinking hats” and our version of the “four thinking hats” • we used the following hats • optimism • criticism • information • creativity

  6. Workshops with Users The workshops • we organized 2 workshops with 4 people each • each person was given a hat:

  7. Workshops with Users The workshops • after explaining the rules, we started the workshop by giving themes and information sentences • we asked the people to give their opinion based on the hat they had • during the workshop, hats were switched between the users, as the themes were discussed

  8. Workshops with Users The workshops

  9. Workshops with Users The results obtained • Photo management • organizing photos by date only isn’t the best option because people don’t remember the date • although people may not remember the place where photos were taken, it’s a best approach than the date • the two best ways to organize photos is actually by event or person, because people don’t forget that!

  10. Workshops with Users The results obtained • Photo customization • people aren’t much into photo editing: • it’s hard • it takes to much time • there are specific tools to make that • adding tags to photos is a good feature because it simplifies the searching method

11. Workshops with Users The results obtained • Photo sharing • photo sharing is a good feature because everyone wants to share the photos with friends and family, but: • privacy is a concern • partial sharing options must be embedded
