  3. STRUCTURE OF THE CURRICULUM FOR ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP The curriculum covers five (5) study units. One (1) study unit equals 40 hours of working. The curriculum has four (4) main modules: 1 Me as a citizen (1 study unit) 2 Me as an active learner (2-5 study units) 3 Me as an active citizen (1 study unit) 4 My personal curriculum plan/ Our group`s curriculum plan & self-assessment Finnish Adult Education Association FAEA

The recognition of prior and informal learning The participant can include into the study entity prior and informal learning as follows: • in the module Me as an active learner: prior studies on the chosen themes • not older than 5 years • participant must have a diploma or certificate, 2) in the module Me as an active citizen: prior social/communal/cultural activities • not older than 5 years • participant must have a report signed by the representative of the organisation in question Finnish Adult Education Association FAEA

The recognition of prior and informal learning 3) In the module My personal curriculum plan /Our group´s curriculum plan & self assessment: The participant assesses the learning process him/herself, with the study group and the tutor. The prior learning is taken into account. The outcomes of learning are compared with the agreed study aims and objectives. Finnish Adult Education Association FAEA

Case KSL: • PORTFOLIOMy Personal History as an Activist • Some of the questions asked: • What is the most important thing in the world for me and how do I get it? • How do I participate/influence? • How do I learn? • What do I know (to do) and never learned at school? • How is a strike operated: what skills and knowledge is needed?
