  2. Homeostasis • The body’s ability to maintain stable internal conditions even though the outside world changes constantly. Examples: • Temperature • Blood sugar • pH • Nutrients • Waste

  3. Negative Feedback • The variable triggers an opposite response to return the body to normal.

  4. Negative Feedback • Negative feedback loops are self-terminating. Why? • Nearly all feedback in the body is negative. Why do you think that is?

  5. Positive Feedback • Stimulus causes a response that increases the stimulus.
