  5. What is Hub? The hub model allows a range of buildings to be procured, from small GP practices to one stop centres to community hospitals and, health and social care centres. The hub initiative plans to deliver more than £1bn of new community infrastructure through the five hub area’s working with local contractors and SMEs to deliver better local public sector buildings. Hub’s flexible supply chain will offer opportunities for SME contractors and designers to become involved in building high-quality public sector buildings in their local area.

  9. How you can be involved • The pre-qualification process will be appropriate to the scale / nature of the lots, and will not be an obstacle to SMEs. A pre-qualification document will be issued asking for the following information: • Appropriate professional accreditation; • Financial robustness; • Capacity to undertake the required services; • Previous experience; • Established and successful management systems including quality, environment and health and safety; • Sufficient resources; • An agreed scoring system will be established in advance, together with a quality threshold, which they must achieve in order to be successfully selected.
