  4. Who are Jews? • People born to a Jewish mother • People who undergo the formal process of conversion to Judaism

  5. Why was Judaism created? • History derived from the written Torah, Talmud, and Midrash. • Founded by the Patriarch: Abraham • The Exodus and the Giving of the Torah

  6. When did Judaism begin? • C. 2,000 B.C.E.

  7. Where is Judaism practiced? • Synagogues • Shuls • Temples

  8. How is Judaism practiced? • Rosh Hashanah • Yom Kippur • Hanukkah • Sabbath • Passover

  9. Fun Facts • Jews don't eat pork • Fish 'n Chips were created by a Jew • Jewish males are required to wear small hats called, kipa or yarmulkes because the Talmud stated that their heads should be covered at all times. • The Rugrats were Jewish
