What is pollution? • Water Pollution is when chemical, contaminants or any substance pollutes water so that it is not fit to consume, fish in or s water. • wimin, basically you should not go near polluted water. • There are also different kinds of pollution such as land pollution that has rubbish as the contaminant, there is also air pollution that greenhouse gasses contribute to.

  3. Causes of water pollution. Farmers contribution to pollution: Human beings are the reason why we have water pollution. Farmers use fertilisers and different chemicals like • Phosphorous • Potassium • Sulphur powder to keep their crop growing well, but these seep into the ground water and slowly make their way into our lakes, rivers and creeks. Some of these chemicals are fatal to the marine life in the water. The chemicals listed above cause many health diseases including birth defects and cancer.

  4. Causesofwaterpollution • Also industrial processes produce toxic waste including heavy metals. when heavy metals makes their way into our water it damages marine life and if fish digest the metal and then humansdigest the fish it can cause many health problems.

  5. What are the effects of water pollution? Each year, plastic waste in water and coastal areas kills up to: • 100,000 marine mammals, • 1 million sea birds, • countless fish. This doesn't only effect the animals, it also effects us. If we eat the contaminated animals imagine what we could contract from them. Pollution is a international problem that the world needs to tend to. We are only leaving the mess for the next generation to clean up.

  6. Proposal For our community we suggest that they : • Be careful about what you tip down your sink or toilet. Don't tip paints, oils or other forms of litter down the drain. • Use environmentally household products, such as washing powder, household cleaning agents and toiletries. • Take great care not to overuse pesticides and fertilisers. • Don't throw litter into rivers, lakes or oceans. Help clean up any litter you see on beaches or in rivers and lakes. Just baby steps. It’s up to us, So let’s make a change before it’s to late.
