  1. SELF DISCIPLINE Being able to do what you should and stop doing what you shouldn’t.

  2. Self Discipline = achieving goals • As you started this school year you may have thought of some academic goals for this school year. In order to accomplish these goals you must have some self discipline. • Self discipline gives you the power to stick to your decisions and follow them through, without changing your mind, and is therefore one of the important requirements for achieving goals.

  3. Questions • Have you ever been in a classroom when the teacher steps out for a few moments? How do you act when that teacher leaves the room? • How should you act when in the classroom? • Are you confident that how you act meets the teachers expectations?

  4. Self Discipline • How you behave when the teacher is not present reflects on how much self discipline you have. • Are you dedicated to doing what is right?

  5. Ways to strengthen our self Discipline • 1. Decide you want to be someone who’s self disciplined. • 2. Learn the rules that tell you what you can and cannot do at school and at home. • 3. Have self restraint during tempting times. • William Feather “If we don't discipline ourselves, the world will do it for us”.

  6. Reflection • Eleanor Roosevelt: Self Discipline “It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself”. • Reflect on this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt and explain what this means to you.
