  2. Mission • Familiarize residents and young surgeons with the College, its programs, and leadership • Avenue for participation in College affairs • Develop and use leadership skills in organized surgery • Opportunity for the concerns of residents and young surgeons to be heard by the College

  3. What’s Old-Membership • Resident- Open to all surgical residents in an ACGME accredited program • Associate- Young surgeons within 5 years of training • Medical student- Accredited program. Both allopathic and osteopathic

  4. What’s Old-Membership • Membership continues to grow >13K • Medical student fastest growing members • PGY-1 year is FREE! • Resident- $20 per year • Medical student- $20 until graduation

Benefits • Free subscription to the Journal of the American College of Surgeons • Electronic newsletter and Web site • Opportunities to serve on various committees of the College • Free registration for Clinical Congress and Spring Meeting and access to CME credits • Access to ACS insurance programs • A voice in policy-making issues concerning residents and young surgeons
