  28. Element #1: The Meaning • Know the meaning of ALL the words • Know what message is being conveyed • In the DeMolay Degree, know the motivations of the characters

  29. Element #2: The Words • Learn the words EXACTLY • Pronounce the words precisely • Practice, and practice again

  30. Hand in Hand • Those first two elements need to be 100% before you should attempt to forge ahead with the last two elements

  31. Element #3: Interpretation • Work the emphasis • Work the intonation • Work the pacing

  32. Element #4: Confidence of Delivery • Run it again and again, with all the other elements in place, until you are dreaming it every night, and it becomes absolutely automatic • PLAN FOR CONTINGENCIES!
