  2. Preventive Dentistry For Kids We have obtained better idea about different methods of dental treatment. Regular dental check-ups are important to avoid tooth decay. Every parent should consult with the dentist for good oral care of their child.

  3. How can You Protect Cavities? You can protect cavities through the following: 1. Topical as well as fluorides 2. Dental sealants 3. Remineralisation toothpastes or chewing gums

  4. What is Meant by Topical and Systemic Fluorides? Topical fluorides – Fluorides are used in a gel, main parts are stannous fluoride or acidulated phosphate fluoride. Topical fluorides are effective for kids who carry the risk of caries. Fluoride gels or foams are used in soft trays. Systemic fluorides – Different foods and supplements can enhance fluoride level in your body. Fluoridated water also enhances your systemic fluoride.

  5. What are Dental Sealants? Sealants are plastic like flowable resin materials applied on teeth and specific spectrum or harden over the applied area. Accumulation of food reduces in these spots therefore, it decreases the possibility of decay.

  6. What is Meant by Remineralisation Toothpastes or Chewing Gums? Tooth decay can be reversed through remineralisation toothpastes or chewing gums, containing amorphous calcium phosphate-casein phosphopeptide complexes. It is effective for the remineralisation of dental enamel.
