  5. Main vehicle for Canadian firms to work with university researchers Industry responsible for at least 1/2 costs & must exploit results Flexible leverage: cash and in-kind 80%-85% Success Rate Collaborative Research & Development Program (CRD)

  6. Replaces former Technology Partnership Program Designed to accelerate development & transfer of promising technology to Canadian companies Phase I: Proof-of-Concept funding Phase II: Tech enhancement funding Ideas to Innovation (I2I)

  7. Maximizes research resources Builds university-industry-government linkages Agreements with 4 government departments DND, CFS/SSHRC, AAFC, NRCan-Earth Sciences Priority research areas for each RPA Industry contributes cash & in-kind Flexible leverage Research Partnerships Agreements (RPA)
